The Performing Animal Welfare Society (PAWS) is home to five Asian (four female and one male) and four female African elephants.  Read more about them here.

Winky and Wanda, below, moved to PAWS in April 2005 from the Detroit Zoo.  The director and staff of the Detroit Zoo made the compassionate decision to close the elephant exhibit and send Winky and Wanda to a sanctuary to live out their lives in peace.
