This is where we tell the stories of some of the many elephants mistreated and killed due to the Association of Zoos and Aquarium's neglect.
Tribby: Born in Africa, she came to the United States as a baby of just 24 months, where she was shipped from zoo to zoo until she died of mysterious causes at age 16.

Petal: Born in Tanzania in 1955, she came to the United States as a baby not even two years old. She lived in the same barren quarter-acre enclosure at the Philadelphia Zoo her entire life. Although she had the opportunity to move to a wonderful sanctuary when she was 50 years old, the Philadelphia Zoo refused to send her, and she died in the same cement barn where she spent over 50 years of her life.

Kutenga: Born in Zimbabwe in 1964, she watched her family die in a mass killing. Shipped to the U.S. when she was still a baby, she was confined at the Philly Zoo until her death at age 27 in 1994.

Misha: Born in South Africa in 1981, she was taken from her family when she was just a year old and shipped to the U.S., where she was displayed at Six Flags for a few years, and then shipped to Utah where she was killed in September 2008 because of "declining health."
