We arrived at the zoo around 2:00 pm and both Kallie and Bette were out.  The silver cylinder was chained to the middle of the yard but no other items (except five or six large piles of feces, indicating Kallie and Bette likely had been outside for a few hours). 

Bette displayed moderate stereotypic behavior throughout our visit by bobbing and swaying for a few minutes at a time.  Twice, after she swayed for a few minutes, she walked backwards a few steps and then stopped swaying.   Both elephants dusted themselves a few times.
