Zoo Visit February 9, 2009
2:00 PM, approximately 50 degrees, a sunny day. No elephants.
Two zoo customers complained about the lack of elephants to a zoo employee, and he called someone else. Eventually two different employees arrived to talk to the unhappy customers, one was named Brian. Brian told the customers that the elephants were not going to be outside at all today because it "was muddy" and the "elephants might slip." He didn't explain why the Shetland cattle were allowed outside just two pens down and in an equally, if not more, muddy area. Also, he didn't explain why elephants such as Kallie and Bette, who generally LOVE wallowing in mud, are not allowed to be near mud in case they might "slip."
