Philly Zoo Visit March 30, 2008

Kallie stands near the barn door. She's probably waiting to go in to be fed. Zoos consider food and eating an "enrichment" activity. The Philly Zoo usually give the elephants carrots when there is a crowd watching. Otherwise, the elephants get dry hay, something they never eat in the wild. Kallie is easily recognizable by her floppy right ear.
