Petal stands behind the stone pillar. She is 52 years old, and the Philly Zoo likes to claim she couldn't survive being trucked to the sanctuary in California that has offered to take her and Kallie and Bette at no charge. At the same time, the Philly Zoo claims she is in perfect health. Since the Philly Zoo refuses to release medical records for the elephants, it's impossible to know the true status of her health.
